Flynn's Walk 2020 (Melbourne)
Flynn's Walk - Walk Out. Talk it out.
About this Event
Flynn’s Walk was started in 2018 following the incredibly sad loss of Dr Flynn Hargreaves (BVSc). Flynn died by suicide and the walk was created in Melbourne to honour his memory, bring together the community, encourage meaningful conversations and spread awareness of the mental health issues faced by veterinary professionals.
Veterinarians have one of the highest suicide rates of any profession - a vet dies by suicide about every 12 weeks. There are a range of factors contributing to this devastating issue including compassion fatigue, high levels of stress and emotional blackmail from clients.
We have held walks in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Toowoomba!
The 2020 edition of the Melbourne walk will be held in Williamstown and is 10km circuit starting and finishing at the Williamstown Tennis Club.
To date we have raised over $45,000 across all of our walks.
We look forward to walking and talking with everyone!
