18 hrs of Melrose event is hosted by Bike Melrose - thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers and landowners who make this event possible.

Change of START / FINISH TIME! 18 Hr Category will commence at 10pm on Friday night - The 6 hour category will encourage the less experienced rider who will not need to ride at night as this will commence at 10am Saturday and finish at 4pm Saturday with the 18 hr riders. Mini and Youth category will commence at 10am with the 6 hr riders.

Theme - A Tribute to our First Responders - Ambulance, nurses, CFS! Prizes for Best outfit!

Course – Expect a nice flowy fun trail with a few technical bits that Melrose is known for – approx 10km loops! As long as you have ridden some singletrack it should be achievable by almost all fairly competent mountain bike riders with a reasonable level of fitness. It is not designed for the complete novice or inexperienced mountain bike rider. Each lap of the course will take an average of 30- 45 mins - The trail map of the course will be out closer to the event as this may change due to weather conditions however it will include Dodging Bullets!

Categories –

For those wanting to ride on an ebike - we are offering a 6 hour Team of 2 category ( note e-bikes are not permitted to ride in the other categories )

Insurance - Compulsory - Please show your Membership at registration. Please note MTBA have a 2 month FREE trial – check it out HERE

Jemagras medical - will be on standby for the entire 18hrs! 

What do I need to bring?

Each rider must have the following equipment whilst on the course-

  • Serviceable mountain bike
  • Australian Standards certified cycling helmet
  • 1 full water bottle
  • One functioning front light, one functioning rear light and a spare white light whilst dark.
  • MTBA full licence – A day license can be purchased during the on line registration
  • Race Plate - given at registration 

COVID 19 RULES - Our committee is there to ensure the safety of the riders therefore we do ask a few things of you ...

Please ensure you keep social distancing a priority during the registration process and during prize giving

Ensure you use the hand sanitizer provided

Please stay home if you are feeling unwell

NO Coughing / spitting or clearing nasal respiratory secretions anywhere.

Below is a waiver which you will agree to when you register for the event.

WAIVER - You will need to read over the terms and conditions to complete this order.

I / the child in my care has sufficient experience and competence to participate safely in the ride.

I intending to be legally bound for myself, executors, administrator and assignees do hereby release, exempt and indemnify the organisers/ Committee, sponsors and all other persons involved in the organisation, from all action, proceedings, demands and claims whatsoever taken by any participation in the ride.

I recognise that I may become injured or incapacitated in a location where it is difficult for the organisers to get medical aid to me in time to avoid physical injury or even death.

The Organisers and Committee, shall not be liable or responsible for any direct, indirect, consequential or accidental damage, injury, loss, accident, delay or irregularity of any kind which may be occasioned by reason of any act or omission of any third party. Without limiting the foregoing, the Organisers / Committee, does not own or operate any third party suppliers of services such as hotels, restaurants, or transportation companies. The Organisers /Committee, shall not be held responsible for any injury, death, loss or expense borne by the participant.

The organisers / Committee, reserves the right to alter or amend the route due to bad weather and other operational needs prevailing at the time and it is always made in the best interest of safety.

The Organisers / Committee, strongly recommend all participants take out Personal Accident and Ambulance Insurance.

I agree to abide by any directions given by the event director, marshals or any official event personnel.

I consent to the publication of any photographs taken of me during this event.

I consent to my address and details being added to any information mail out lists used by the Organisers / Melrose Community, in line with its privacy policies.

I understand that events occasionally need to be cancelled and / or published information needs to change. In such circumstances the Organisers will do its best to provide a comparable event. Where this is not possible there shall be no refund

Cancellation of the event may occur if weather conditions prove to be too dangerous or are not in accordance with the Mountain Bike Code of Practice, which recommends that riding in wet and muddy conditions be avoided to prevent trail damage and the spread of plant diseases.

In the event I cancel my registration there will be no refunds - however please contact the event organiser as we look at this as a case by case. Transfer to the following year is accepted. If the event is cancelled due to Covid we will refund 100% less $10 administration fee.
